Sales Manager - Central/South America

Department: MC Commercial America Sales
Location: Middletown, RI

SUMMARY:  Manage satellite and commercial product sales activities in Central & South America

ESSENTIAL DUTIES include but are not limited to:

  • Support sales of KVH products and services to new and existing customer base.
  • Meet targeted forecasts and objectives.
  • Implement strategic sales plans to accommodate corporate goals.
  • Assists with sales forecasting activities and review with partners.
  • Reviews market analyses to determine customer needs, price schedules, and discount rates.
  • Supports channel development activity and coordinates sales distribution by establishing sales partner relationships.
  • Advises distributors, resellers and clients concerning sales and advertising techniques.
  • Works assigned sales territory but supports the Americas Commercial team.
  • Analyzes sales statistics to help formulate policy and assist partners in promoting sales.
  • Represents company at trade association meetings to promote product.
  • Delivers sales presentations to key clients in coordination with Regional Director.
  • Meets with key clients, maintaining relationships and negotiating and closing opportunities.
  • Coordinates liaison between customers/ partners and sales support related units.
  • Assists other departments within organization to prepare manuals and technical publications.
  • Prepares monthly sales report showing sales volume, potential sales, and areas of proposed client base expansion.
  • Monitors and evaluates the activities and products of the competition.
  • Travel at least 35-45% of the time.

UALIFICATIONS:

The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required:

  • At least 5 years’ experience in sales or managing sales accounts in a mobile electronics, marine electronics, or satellite communications field.
  • A  Bachelor’s Degree, ideally in Business Management / Studies.
  • Computer skills including MS Office, E-mail, Internet, and database experience.
  • Strong written and oral presentation/reporting skills.
  • Superior communication and organizational skills.
  • Excellent negotiation techniques and the ability to close deals.
  • Initiative and determination to succeed.
  • Must be self-motivated.
